Luciano Darderi vs Jesper de Jong prediction
Luciano Darderi is into his third final of the season and his second on the ATP Tour after battling past Francisco Cerundolo in three sets. He was 4-2 down in the decider but fought back to win the match on a tiebreak. Darderi won 6-2 3-6 7-6 overall. This has been a strong showing from the Italian in his first event since reaching the third-round of a Grand Slam for the first time at Wimbledon.
He will face Jesper de Jong in the final as the Dutchman continued his fine week with a straight sets win over Camilo Ugo Carabelli. De Jong served for the match at 6-5 in the second set but was broken straight away by the Argentine, who forced a tiebreak. De Jong recovered from that disappointment quickly to win 6-3 7-6. He won 83% of his first serve points in the match as he seeks a first tour-level title win.
Darderi seems to have rekindled some of the form which took him all the way to the title in Marrakech back in April. De Jong has looked solid so far this week and will pose a threat, but the Italian is good value to win.
