Lorient, who gained promotion back to the top-flight last season with an impressively run operation off the pitch, begin the weekend’s round of fixtures in the top-half but indifferent form of late is seeing them drift from the European spots in Ligue 1.
The home team come into this one on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Olympique Lyonnais in their most recent outing last weekend, meaning that they have now managed just one victory in their last eight matches across all competitions.
Marseille preview: Back on track
It has been another chaotic and controversial campaign at Stade Velodrome, continuing with the revealing of their bizarrely bad new badge, but Marseille, now with Habib Beye at the helm, did get themselves back into the top three race last weekend.
That is because l’OM managed to eventually see off rock-bottom and Ligue 2-bound Metz by three goals to one down on the south coast last weekend, courtesy of goals from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Igor Paixao and Hamed Junior Traore.
