Czechia have little to play for aside from position after securing a quarter-final place and could chose to give key pieces a rest in this contest. That would only benefit Germany, who need a win to avoid a nerve-wracking final round of fixtures as they fight to stay inside the top four of Group B after being beaten last time out by USA.

The Germans showed admirable fight against USA, coming back from 3-0 to tie the game before ultimately losing 6-3.
