Malaga come into this on the back of a surprise 2-0 defeat away to Xabi Alonso’s Real Sociedad B last weekend. The Andalusians are now winless in their last six matches, either side of a short Segunda winter break. Their only win in their last 11 games came against bottom-of-the-table Alcorcon. They now come up against a Cartagena side that begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting a few points off the top six and the playoff places. They are on the back of three successive defeats, though. Given the poor form of both sides, a draw would appear the likeliest outcome for this one.
