Saint-Etienne registered a rare victory last week – just their third Ligue 1 win of the season – when they triumphed over Angers but they remain rooted to the bottom of the division and they still have plenty of work to do if they are to avoid the fate of relegation to the second tier of French football. Here they entertain a Montpellier side who are battling gamely for the European places having won five of their last seven league games but they remain a little suspect at the back, with no clean sheets to speak of in their last four league encounters.
