THE LOWDOWN

LYON

Lyon made it three wins in their last four matches as they got the better of Monaco. Wissam Ben Yedder gave Monaco a very early lead from the penalty spot, converting in just the second minute but Alexandre Lacazette continued his fine scoring form to level before the break.

Both sides continued to push to take the lead in the second half but it was Maxence Caqueret’s strike in the 57th minute that put Lyon in front before Rayan Cherki secured the victory with the home side’s third 12 minutes from time.

That was an important win for Lyon and keeps them in the hunt for a European spot and having lost just one of their last eight Ligue 1 matches on home soil, they will be full of confidence ahead of this visit of Reims.

REIMS

After such a promising start to the season, Reims are not quite hitting the heights that they had threatened and they will need a couple of positive results to break their way into the top 10 to finish the campaign.

They played out a 2-2 draw with Angers in their most recent contest in what was a disappointing result against the bottom side, especially as they had twice taken the lead. Goals from Junya Ito and Folarin Balogun were cancelled out by Halid Sabanovic and Himad Adbelli.

It is now just one win in their last seven games for Reims as they deal with a lengthy injury list. On the road, they have lost their last three and won just two of their last eight which highlights the task in hand.

THE PREDICTION

Lyon are still in the hunt for a European place but they will need to win their final two games of the season and hope for some good fortune elsewhere. It would be hugely disappointing if they were to miss out on qualifying for Europe and they should have plenty of desire to avoid that fate. They have won three of their last four and boast a solid home record which spells trouble for opponents Reims who have struggled of late so back Lyon to come out on top in this one.

TIP: LYON TO WIN
