THE LOWDOWN
CLERMONT
Despite being in a group of teams across Europe, such as Almeria in Spain, Salernitana in Italy and Sheffield United in England, whereby they are simply awaiting their fate of inevitable relegation to be mathematically confirmed, Clermont have shown some genuine fighting spirit in the last few weeks.
The rock-bottom Ligue 2-bound side come into this one on the back of sharing a 1-1 draw against defending champions and runaway league leaders Paris Saint-Germain in their most recent outing at the Parc des Princes, last weekend. Habib Keita did give Clermont a first-half lead before Goncalo Ramos equalised in the 85th minute of the match.
MONTPELLIER
Montpellier Herault have been battling against relegation throughout the campaign and they remain in danger of finishing in the bottom three and the danger zone. However, the visitors manage to come into this one on the back of a much-improved run of form and a vital 2-0 defeat of Lorient last Sunday.
Teji Savanier and Yann Karamoh scored second-half goals in that victory over Lorient at Stade de la Mosson, last weekend. That means Montpellier come into this weekend on the back of three Ligue 1 victories in their last four matches as they try and stretch themselves away from the relegation playoff place.

THE PREDICTION
For much of this campaign, these two teams have been in a similar position to each other down at the bottom end of the table but are now beginning to separate in different directions. Despite their impressive point against PSG a week ago, Clermont are still destined to be relegated relatively soon. Montpellier, on the other hand, are heading away from the bottom three and they are the firm favourites for this one.
TIP: MONTPELLIER TO WIN
