THE LOWDOWN

WOLVES

  • The midweek League Cup win over Leeds did offer some respite from their league troubles but they are now faced with the unenviable task of facing an excellent Arsenal side.
  • Jonny has emerged as a doubt which should see Nelson Semedo feature once more, with the Portuguese full-back having served his suspension in the League Cup, while Diego Costa serves the final game of his own ban.

ARSENAL

  • Arsenal ground out a 0-1 win against London rivals Chelsea last weekend as their excellent Premier League season continued and they will be determined to head into the World Cup break on a positive note with another three points.
  • Mikel Arteta has rarely tinkered with his line-up in the Premier League and is likely to go for an unchanged line-up from the side that beat Chelsea last week, with plenty of his regulars given a rest in the midweek League Cup defeat to Brighton.

THE TEAM NEWS

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Sa; Semedo, Collins, Kilman, Bueno; B. Traore, Neves; Guedes, Nunes, Podence; Hwang

UNAVAILABLE: Chiquinho (Injured), Kalajdzic (Injured), Neto (Injured), Jimenez (Injured), Costa (Suspended)

QUESTIONABLE: Jonny (Injured)

ARSENAL

PREDICTED XI (4-3-3): Ramsdale; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Zinchenko; Odegaard, Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli

UNAVAILABLE: Smith-Rowe (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Tomiyasu (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

As much as Wolves would love to be outside the relegation zone heading into the World Cup, that looks like a huge task for them given the difficulty of this fixture. Arsenal have surprised many onlookers so far this season with their ability to sustain a high level and compete with Man City at the top of the division, and Mikel Arteta will be fully expecting his side to see off the challenge of Wolves here. The Gunners have kept clean sheets in three of their last four Premier League games, and against a Wolves side who have scored a paltry eight goals in the league this season, a win to nil looks likely.

TIP: ARSENAL TO WIN TO NIL
