THE LOWDOWN

TOTTENHAM

The appointment and tenure of Ange Postecoglou has been exciting and, crucially, simply different from recent seasons for Tottenham Hotspur. Results may not be dramatically that much better but the feeling around the club is and that will only be helped by last weekend when Brennan Johnson scored a 96th minute winner to help Spurs complete a comeback victory over Brighton.

That means they begin this weekend’s round of fixtures sitting tucked inside the top four and the UEFA Champions League spots, just seven points behind league leaders Liverpool. Their 24 matches have consisted of 87 goals so far this season and they are now unbeaten in their last five games in the Premier League.

WOLVES

Gary O’Neil is proving himself to be an astute, pragmatic coach that is capable of giving most teams in the Premier League a run for their money with detailed tactical plans that have been implemented and worked at both AFC Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers. However, at this early stage of his career, there is a slight concern that his style of football has a limit to it.

An example of that being the 2-0 defeat that they suffered at the hands of Brentford at Molineux, last weekend. After moving themselves into the top-half of the table with an impressive 4-2 win at Stamford Bridge over Chelsea, Wolves have allowed the gap between themselves and the top seven and the European spots to remain at four points.

THE TEAM NEWS

TOTTENHAM

In his pre-match press conference, Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou confirmed that both of his first choice full backs, Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro, will be unavailable this weekend, with Porro set to miss a 'couple of weeks', too.

Backup goalkeeper Fraser Forster has also picked up an injury that will rule him out for months, sidelined alongside Israeli international Manor Solomon. It is expected that Son Heung-min comes back into the starting line-up this weekend.

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Emerson Royal, Romero, Van de Ven, Davies; Sarr, Bentancur; Johnson, Maddison, Son; Richarlison

UNAVAILABLE: Forster (Injured), Porro (Injured), Udogie (Injured), Sessegnon (Injured), Solomon (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Lo Celso (Injured)

WOLVES

During the week, it was revealed that in-form forward Matheus Cunha had suffered a serious hamstring injury and would be unavailable for a sustained period of time with Gary O'Neil describing the injury as 'fairly significant'.

Hwang Hee-chan had a minor calf issue last weekend so didn't immediately return to action after the AFC Asian Cup but the South Korean international is now back available. There are no other concerns for Wolves and O'Neil.

PREDICTED XI (3-4-2-1): Sa; Kilman, Dawson, Toti; Semedo, Joao Gomes, Lemina, Ait-Nouri; Hwang, Sarabia; Pedro Neto

UNAVAILABLE: Cunha (Injured)

THE PREDICTION

In the reverse fixture between these two sides, Tottenham were a goal to the good late on but managed to suffer a 2-1 defeat at Molineux. Spurs have entered into a good run of form but they are once again in a run of form whereby results are not convincing in terms of margin of victory, albeit performances are quite strong. Wolves have shown they have what it takes to make it extremely difficult to play against them so whilst Spurs have been involved in high-scoring games throughout the campaign, this one seems more likely to be a case of the hosts huffing and puffing and potentially blowing the house down with no real guarantees.

TIP: TOTTENHAM TO WIN & UNDER 3.5 GOALS
