THE LOWDOWN
LIVERPOOL
- Things are looking a little better once again in the Liverpool camp with recent victories over Napoli and Tottenham followed by progression in the League Cup helping to restore some confidence.
- Jurgen Klopp rotated heavily as he always does in the League Cup but will bring the regulars back here, and it would be no surprise to see the same personnel and formation that started against Tottenham last week.
SOUTHAMPTON
- Ralpjh Hasenhuttl’s near four-year tenure as Southampton boss came to an end in the wake of the Saints’ 1-4 defeat to Newcastle last weekend, and Nathan Jones has since been installed as the new manager.
- Tino Livramento and Kyle Walker-Peters are long-term absentees while Juan Lario is a fresh doubt and needs to be assessed for his availability for the trip to Liverpool.

SOUTHAMPTON

THE PREDICTION
Nathan Jones has barely had any time to acquaint himself with his players but as we recently saw with Aston Villa, there can often be an immediate positive reaction when a manager is dismissed. Whether that will be the case here remains to be seen, but what is certain is that Liverpool – despite their struggles this season – possess far superior quality in their ranks. Mo Salah is looking more like his old self again, and after his clinical brace against Spurs last weekend, the Egyptian stands a great chance of finding the net once more, particularly as he will not have the upcoming World Cup on his mind.
TIP: MOHAMED SALAH TO SCORE ANYTIME
