THE LOWDOWN

FULHAM

  • Fulham can count themselves hugely unlucky that they came away from the Etihad empty-handed last week, with a last-gasp Erling Haaland penalty consigning the Cottagers to a 2-1 defeat.
  • They are weakened here due to suspensions to both Kenny Tete and Harrison Reed, while Aleksandar Mitrovic will miss out once again with a foot injury.

MAN UTD

  • Man Utd’s good run of form came to an end with a disappointing defeat to Aston Villa last week but Erik ten Hag’s side bounced back with an entertaining victory over the same opponents in the League Cup.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo is currently suffering with illness but could recover for Sunday’s encounter while impressive youngster Alejandro Garnacho is pushing for a start after a sparkling performance off the bench midweek.

THE TEAM NEWS

FULHAM

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): Leno; Decordova-Reid, Diop, Ream, Robinson; Chalobah, Palhinha; Wilson, Andreas Pereira, Willian; Vinicius

UNAVAILABLE: Tete (Suspended), Reed (Suspended), Solomon (Injured), Kebano (Injured), Mitrovic (Injured)

QUESTIONABLE: Kurzawa (Fitness)

MAN UTD

PREDICTED XI (4-2-3-1): De Gea; Lindelof, Maguire, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Eriksen; Rashford, Fernandes, Garnacho; Martial

UNAVAILABLE: Tuanzebe (Injured), Varane (Injured), Williams (Injured), Dalot (Suspended)

QUESTIONABLE: Wan-Bissaka (Fitness), Sancho (Illness), Antony (Injured), Ronaldo (Illness)

THE PREDICTION

After being stung by a late penalty decision at the Etihad last week, Fulham now welcome Man City’s cross-city rivals to Craven Cottage and will have reason to believe they can get something out of the game. Even without Aleksandar Mitrovic – as they were last week – they are still capable of causing opponents problems, so Man Utd will need to significantly raise their game compared to last week’s defeat to Aston Villa. Erik Ten Hag will be demanding an improved display, but will find the hosts to be stubborn opponents so a draw could very well be the outcome here.

TIP: DRAW
