The end of the season can’t come fast enough for Frank Lampard and Chelsea, who have endured a miserable campaign despite splashing out hundreds of millions on a string of underperforming players.
The Blues were once again disappointing in their midweek defeat to Man Utd, going behind early to a Casemiro header before Anthony Martial doubled Utd's advantage just before the break. Bruno Fernandes and substitute Marcus Rashford added a further two goals in the second half, before a fine effort by Joao Felix at least gave the Chelsea faithful something to cheer about. Chelsea will now end the season anywhere between 11th and 14th place.
NEWCASTLE
A point against Leicester on Monday secured Champions League football next season in what has been a superb campaign for Eddie Howe and Newcastle, and they could even finish ahead of Man Utd on the final day if they win and the Red Devils fail to beat Fulham.
Newcastle can certainly count themselves unlucky that they did not take the three points against Leicester as they hit the woodwork on three occasions in a match they dominated throughout. However, they almost lost it on the dying seconds when an acrobatic effort from Timothy Castagne was expertly kept out by Nick Pope, who has had an outstanding season between the posts for the Magpies.

Frank Lampard was impressed by the performances of youngsters Carney Chukwuemeka and Noni Madueke in the defeat to Man Utd and they could find themselves in the starting line-up again, while Joao Felix's goalscoring cameo off the bench could see the Portuguese international take Kai Havertz' place in the XI.
Mason Mount faces a race against time to participate in what could be his final Chelsea appearance, but Reece James has suffered a setback in training and will take no part in this fixture. Thiago Silva received a rest midweek and is likely to come back into central defence, and Christian Pulisic might be preferred to Mykhailo Mudryk in the front three if Lampard wishes to make further changes.

Howe suggested that he may look at one or two other alterations, with the likes of Anthony Gordon, Allan Saint-Maximim and Jacob Murphy all potentially coming into the side, although wholesale changes would seem unlikely given that there is still an outside chance of finishing third in the Premier League table.

Two wealthy clubs who have experienced vastly different campaigns meet here, with their being a huge contrast in the confidence levels of Chelsea and Newcastle. Chelsea must hit the reset button next season while Newcastle are well on their way to becoming a footballing superpower having exceeded their expectations this season. The visitors will be going all out for the win given that third place is still a possibility, and against a side low on morale, should be capable of picking up the three points.
