THE LOWDOWN
BRENTFORD
- Brentford’s poor away league form continued last time out against Liverpool, the Bees losing 3-0 at Anfield and they’ll be happy to be back in West London for this one, considering that they have taken 10 points from the last 15 available to them at home.
- Whilst head coach Thomas Frank stressed it was just a precaution, wing-back Rico Henry being substituted at half-time on his return to action following a hamstring injury means that he must be considered a doubt for this one, with Sergi Canos an option to play from the start rather than from the bench.
MAN UTD
- Man Utd looked all set for a welcome three points at the weekend having gone two goals up in the second half against Aston Villa, only to be pegged back by Steven Gerrard’s side and forced to settle for a 2-2 draw.
- Cristano Ronaldo missed the trip to Villa Park due to a problem with his hip flexor, but has been back in training this week and is likely to start against Brentford, with left-back Luke Shaw and midfielder Scott McTominay also set to return following suspensions.

THE PREDICTION
With just one win from their last four Premier League fixtures, it is imperative that Man Utd get themselves back to winning ways in this one and drag themselves back into the race for top four. Brentford though, despite having lost four of their most recent five league games won’t prove pushovers and with home advantage in their favour, will look to take advantage of the soft Man Utd underbelly that remains as prominent as ever despite a change in manager. However, the Bees themselves are extremely fragile defensively having shipped seven goals across their last two matches and have not kept a clean sheet since back on November 28th against Everton. With that in mind, backing both teams to score should be seriously considered regardless of who emerges victorious
