THE PREDICTION
AZ lost a match for the first time in eight Eredivisie games 0-1 at home to Utrecht on Wednesday, failing to score in the league for the first time this season. As with their only other defeat in this excellent season this could be a quick and useful wake-up call for the hosts here and they have proven the most dangerous opponent to top teams recently, beating both Feyenoord and PSV this January. Ajax, though, are unbeaten in eight Eredivisie matches and they will be AZ’s toughest test so far, especially as AZ seem to prefer playing on the road. Both teams should score a total of over 2.5 goals here, possibly 3.5, and that could be enough in the markets for what should be an excellent poster-game for Dutch football. Draw no bet in favour of the leaders Ajax is the likeliest way a result might fall but is probably not worth the added risk against the poked bear of AZ.
