Defending League Cup champions Sporting Braga lost 1-0 to Sporting Lisbon in the League Cup Final on Saturday and will be desperate to make amends in the quarter-finals of the Taca de Portugal here against Santa Clara. Braga have proven themselves to be knockout specialists in recent times after knocking out Benfica to reach that final last Wednesday and whilst Santa Clara are their first Primeira Liga opposition in the Portuguese Cup they will be clear favourites to reach the semi-finals. The visitors have lost just one of their last five games in all competitions but Braga’s home form is some of the best in Portugal – unbeaten here in 11 games and on a seven-match winning streak over all competitions themselves.
