Click here for today’s sports betting tips from our expert analysts!

'Team TSZ' is a collective FPL team where tough decisions are made during uncompromising board room meetings. Team TSZ finished a lofty 1390 in its debut year, and followed that up with a respectable 88178 in its second season. we don't talk about the third season. How will the fourth season go? Stay tuned!

‘Team TSZ’ consists of:

Trystan Pugh

Alex Sarwar

HOW DID WE GET ON IN DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 26?

GW points: 162
GW average:
84
GW rank:
21,484
Overall rank:
227,959 (▲)

All of a sudden Team TSZ’s season looks like turning rosy after back-to-back best gameweeks of the campaign and what is almost certainly our highest-scoring total ever at 162 points. The site team has moved over 200,000 places in two gameweeks, with almost double the weekly average of 84 seeing us rank 21,484th for Double Gameweek 26. Nothing feels better in FPL than a perfectly executed, sensibly waited-for triple captain. A shame, though, that over a million people did the same!

With their frowns finally turned upside down, Trystan and Alex have no memory of ever saying that they hate FPL, that they’ve given up, that there’s no point. Luckily we have these articles as evidence. Their new goal for the 2021/22 season is to beat last season’s abhorrent rank of 142,951 to stop the rot since our stellar opening campaign of 1390 in the whole effing world.

BLANK & DOUBLE GAMEWEEK 27 TEAM

Formation: 4-3-3
Captain: Weghorst
Vice-captain: Fernandes
Transfers made: 1 (Van Dijk > Saiss)
Point deductions: 0

It seemed a pretty simple task this week with no money in the bank, one free transfer and 10 men set to start. Surely it would be just a quick chat about which blanker to swap out for a starter, perhaps a player with a double next week, especially as the three of us were so busy. But no, dear readers, now that Trystan and Alex suddenly care again I'm afraid to report the old 20-minute+ hand-wringing over who's due a goal, who's spent all their goals, who's likely to start in three months on a Sunday lunchtime and who's had a haircut recently are back with a vengeance.

Trystan was particularly enamoured with the Spurs vs Leeds fixture after Liverpool's 6-0 hammering of Marcelo Bielsa's very attractive open-goal system on Wednesday night but with Antonio Conte likely to walk out of their next match at half-time, this one could go any which way. The pair were briefly tempted to swap out Mohamed Salah for one week only but there were apparently few stand-out successors to bring in apart from, you know, Heung-Min Son playing in the potentially bonkers game they'd just mentioned. Salah's ability is such this season that even though the Egyptian is guaranteed not to play, not having him feels like a scary, superstitious risk. Deciding on a compromise to keep him but captain someone else for once seemed like the right thing to do.

After plenty of deliberation the pair finally got around to discussing the obvious move; bringing in a Burnley defender after Sean Dyche's side claimed four clean sheets from their last six Premier League outings. Connor Roberts almost single-handedly paid for my risky -28 in Double Gameweek 26 and I shall be captaining the Welsh international with a degree of smugness in Blank & Double Gameweek 27. Trystan suggested bringing in Ben Mee, whom I have brought in this week, but Alex was quick to shut the move down.

“I wouldn’t get Mee, Trystan, he’s used up his goals… Tarkowski’s due a goal.” Alex 'Due-a-goal' Sarwars mantra has more holes in it than my 'players always score against their old clubs' one. They ALWAYS do though!

So you heard it here first: Ben Mee has used all his goals up, James Tarkowski is planning to use his quota this week. Trystan, head in hands, sighed into his microphone. In comes Romain Saiss for his staple yellow card, out goes Virgil van Dijk, Wout Weghorst is captain in what feels like a trap. Leicester's record at conceding set-pieces, to me, looks Ben Mee-shaped.
