Rinky Hijikata vs Dalibor Svrcina prediction

Rinky Hijikata is back in action after a first-round defeat at the US Open to Felix Auger-Aliassime. Hijikata levelled the match in the second set and remained competitive throughout, but he would go on to lose 7-5 4-6 6-3 7-5. His standout run came at Indian Wells, where he came through qualifying before beating Francesco Maestrelli, Luciano Darderi and Alexander Bublik to reach the round-of-16. He also recorded wins over Gael Monfils and Darderi during a third-round appearance in Cincinnati. 

Dalibor Svrcina qualified without the loss of a set. He beat Philip Sekulic and Rio Noguchi. Svrcina also advanced through the qualifying stages of the US Open and then picked up a win in round one after a fine victory over Valentin Royer. His run ended against Darderi. 

Hijikata leads the overall head-to-head 2-0, but this will be their first ATP meeting. They played against each other earlier this year in the qualifying stages of the Delray Beach Open, with the 25-year-old winning 6-4 6-3. Svrcina has performed strongly in recent weeks, and this could be a closer encounter.
