Dominika Salkova vs Katerina Siniakova prediction
Dominika Salkova defeated 17-year-old Laura Samson 6-3 6-3 to reach the round-of-16 stage in Prague. Despite the straight sets win, this was a far from straight forward victory for Salkova, with nine breaks of serve overall during the match. She was also shaky on serve, with six double faults and her first serve percentage barely reaching 60%.
Katerina Siniakova will be her opponent in the next round after she defeated Elena-Gabriela Ruse in two sets. The match began frenetically, with four breaks of serve, but Siniakova remained the more dominant of the two and eventually grabbed a late break to take the first set. The second set was more comfortable, with the Czech winning 7-5 6-2.
There were deficiencies in Salkova’s game that could well be exploited by Siniakova, who has the far greater pedigree of the two. We expect her to come through this in straight sets.
