Fallon Sherrock returns to the PDC World Championship hoping to make history once more, and she has certainly proven since her sensational debut that her performances were not a flash in the pan. In the latter half of 2021, she reached the final of the Nordic Darts Masters before enjoying an excellent run at the Grand Slam of Darts last month, where she made the quarter-finals and only narrowly lost out to Peter Wright. Steve Beaton knows what he is up against then, and will no doubt have to take on the crowd as well as his opponent despite the fact he is usually a fan-favourite. Beaton has bags of experience and should be equipped to cope with the challenge that faces him, but Sherrock certainly has the ability to prevail here and it would be no surprise at all if she added the veteran to her list of victims on the Ally Pally stage.
