Jason Asher: "All Smoke" looks to deliver another memorable stoppage

Louisiana native, Jason Asher (5-0), is an undefeated featherweight training out of Mid City MMA. The 26 year old prospect has finished all five of his professional bouts to date by TKO; Asher has yet to see a third round in his career, with four of his brutal finishes coming in the very first frame. “All Smoke” is huge for the weight class at 6’1” with a 74” reach, leveraging his lanky frame to potshot his opponents at range in order to set up fight ending blows.

Greg Foster: Can the MMA Lab representative hand Asher a first loss?

Training out of the MMA Lab, Greg Foster (8-1) has been a professional since 2021, turning pro after an amateur career where he notably fought Sean O’Malley in his first bout. Boasting five stoppages in eight wins split virtually even between TKOs and submissions, Foster has never been finished as a professional, with his sole loss coming by way of decision. The 34 year old American drops down to featherweight for his Contender Series bow, having previously fought as high as welterweight throughout his career.

Jason Asher vs Greg Foster prediction

Both men have fought nothing but straight cans on the regional circuit, so it’s hard to gauge how they might perform based on their respective levels of competition. Case in point, in thirteen combined wins, only four of those victories have come against opponents with winning records; Foster is coming off a win over a fighter who was 14-51.

I don’t think either of these men are particularly impressive prospects, but based on his physical attributes and finishing potential, we’re going with Asher here. Despite Foster having fought most of his career at a higher weight class, “All Smoke” is going to be the bigger man in there, with a height and reach advantage to boot. Foster is also nearly ten years older than his latest foe and could well be at a significant disadvantage in terms of speed and durability.

In short, I envision the pair banging it out on the feet for about half a round before Asher finds the range and plants something fight ending on Foster’s chin for the finish.

Prediction: Jason Asher to win by TKO
