- Australia were thankful to the nerve of Josh Hazelwood as he demonstrated his class with a brilliant performance in a Super Over to see off Sri Lanka for the second time in succession.
- After the scores were tied at 164 runs apiece, Hazlewood bowled superbly to limit the Sri Lankans to 5/1 and they had no trouble in surpassing that total but they will need to show more in this contest and will have to do so without Steve Smith after he was ruled out of the rest of the series with concussion.
SRI LANKA
- Sri Lanka were much-improved from their opening game of the series with Australia and while they were able to force a Super Over, they will have been frustrated at their efforts in that period of play.
- The tourists have it all to do if they are to keep the series alive but if they are to earn a first win of the tour, they will need Wanindu Hasaranga and Pathum Nissanka to lead the way again after the pair both performed well once again in the second contest.
THE PREDICTION
Australia and Sri Lanka played out a thrilling affair in their second game of the T20i series with a Super Over needed to separate the two. The Australians were able to prevail in that and they did so in comfortable fashion thanks to the efforts of Josh Hazlewood. The Sri Lankans could well be impacted by that underwhelming showing having come so close to levelling the series and with Australia knowing they dodged a bullet in that contest, they can produce a better performance this time around to claim a comfortable success which will seal the series.
