Astra Sharma vs Ann Li prediction

Astra Sharma won both of her matches in qualifying with the loss of just eight service games overall. Her most recent outing was at last week’s Hamburg Open, where she lost in the second-round. She does have a title to her name this season, having won in Bonita Springs on the ITF circuit. Her ranking is now at 139.

She faces Ann Li in the first-round in Prague. Li competed in Iasi last week, losing in round two to Anna Siskova. The American has struggled for any consistency ever since her fine run to the Singapore Open final at the start of February. 

The head-to-head is 2-1 in Li’s favour but 1-1 on hard court. Li won their US Open qualifying match last year, but Sharma picked up a victory of her own at the Dow Tennis Classic a few months later. The much higher ranked Li will be the favourite in this one and should be getting her campaign off with a win.
