World number 24 Arthur Rinderknech returns to action and he will be hoping to regain some form and momentum. He was forced to withdraw in Madrid a couple of weeks ago due to a calf problem and then returned in a Challenger event in Bordeaux last week only to lose in his opening match.

Since the back end of 2025, Rinderknech is enjoying arguably the best 12 months of his career so he will be keen to get back up and running in Geneva this week.

That will not be easy however against in-form Argentine Thiago Tirante. The 25-year-old was in fine form in the Italian Open winning three matches including triumphs over Flavio Cobolli and Cam Norrie, before Daniil Medvedev knocked him out.

Much will depend on Tirante’s mood coming into this one and if he retains his focus but he has to be fancied if he is in the right head space. All the momentum is with him and we can see Rinderknech just being undercooked coming into this one against a tough opponent.
