TEAM NEWS & PREDICTED LINE-UPS

ARSENAL

Aaron Ramsey (£7.1m) is out of DGW35 at a minimum after suffering a hamstring injury during Arsenal’s 1-0 win away to Napoli last night. Post-match, Unai Emery said: “He was in a very good moment, he was playing with a big behaviour and commitment to do something important for us. His injury today can give us some matches without him. I don’t know if we’ll see him again before the end of the season.” Granit Xhaka (£5.2m) is ‘being assessed’ after picking up a hip injury yesterday.
On fatigue in his squad, Emery explained: “Some of the players who played today [against Napoli] maybe cannot play on Sunday. We want to play a lot of matches, difficult matches, but we need to prepare well. Now it’s important to rest and tomorrow we will work with some of the players who didn't play today.” If the Spaniard uses a four-man backline, as against Watford in GW34, Sead Kolasinac (£5.0m) would be at risk of rotation. That system would allow Emery to start all three of Mesut Ozil (£7.9m), Alex Iwobi (£5.4m) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (£6.7m). None of that trio were in Emery’s XI last night, though ‘Mkhi’ replaced the stricken Ramsey after 34 minutes. Shkodran Mustafi (£5.4m) is another option at right-back, while Konstantinos Mavropanos (£4.7m) is in the frame for a second consecutive league start with Sokratis (£5.1m) suspended until the midweek clash at Wolves.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.9m) played the entirety of last night’s match, while scorer Alexandre Lacazette (£9.4m) came off after 68 minutes. The strikers could be paired in the same XI or may rotate places, with Emery’s use of his squad a pain for picking FPL assets.

BOURNEMOUTH

Eddie Howe said this morning: “Team news, we're in a similar position as we were last week. Steve Cook (£4.3m) came through the Brighton game well and has been able to get in a lot of fitness work. His return gave everyone a lift last weekend.”

BRIGHTON

Chris Hughton said yesterday on his squad: “We have no new injury concerns ahead of the weekend.”

BURNLEY

Sean Dyche provided this update on his squad: “[Peter Crouch (£4.4m)] is back on the move but not quite there yet. He is literally taking his first strides, loosely, on the training ground, but not with us, more with the sports science team. We’ll see how he goes. He feels in a good place at the minute. [Steven Defour (£5.3m)] is not going to be right for this season, but he’s making very good progress. He’s in a good place with it all. He’s had a lot to take on this season and I think, overall, he has handled it well. It’s not easy. He had a fantastic season last season until he got injured and then it’s been a work in progress this season to try and get everything back in order. But he’s in good spirits.”

CARDIFF

Asked if Harry Arter (£4.9m) will be available for the visit of Liverpool, Neil Warnock said: “I wouldn’t have thought so. He’s touch and go for Fulham [GW36]. That’s what the physio told me. Aron Gunnarsson (£4.4m) had a spasm in his back, but I think that’s just old age.”

CHELSEA

Eden Hazard (£11.0m) was brought off after 65 minutes last night as Chelsea beat Slavia Prague 4-3 to reach the Europa League semi-finals. Following the game, Maurizio Sarri said on the Belgian’s injury: “Nothing serious I think. Only a knock. A strong knock. I think he needs to recover for Monday.”
Antonio Rudiger (£5.9m) missed out yesterday and remains a major doubt for this gameweek at least.

CRYSTAL PALACE

Jeffrey Schlupp (£4.5m) is out for the remainder of the season. Roy Hodgson said: “We have been a little bit unlucky in this latter period, it started with Mamadou Sakho, then we lost James Tomkins and now we've lost Jeff, which is of course three big blows for us. He won't play again this season, the ankle injury is such that it will take the three or so weeks we have left (to heal). Fortunately, we don't have quite so many other injuries to deal with but we are getting down to our bare bones, but I guess we aren't alone in that respect, late in the season teams do get depleted. The worst thing with these things is it always happen to players in the same positions, we are certainly stretched at the moment in our defensive positions and we have been depleted in midfield. But up front, at the moment, we do have competition for places.”

EVERTON

Marco Silva kept it simple at his presser on Thursday, stating: “Just Yerry Mina (£5.4m) is out for the Manchester United game.” Andre Gomes (£5.4m) begins a three-match ban, with Morgan Schneiderlin (£4.2m) and Tom Davies (£5.0m) the contenders for a central-midfield spot.

FULHAM

Scott Parker said on team news: “Timothy Fosu-Mensah (£4.2m) is struggling a little bit with knee ligament troubles. He’ll be further assessed over the coming days to see where we are. Other than that it is the same players. Marcus Bettinelli (£4.2m) is progressing well. Alfie Mawson (£4.7m) still needs a little bit of time, in terms of training time, but certainly he’s edging closer.”

HUDDERSFIELD

On team news, Jan Siewert said: “Isaac Mbenza (£5.9m) is better, which is good. Unfortunately, Karlan Grant (£5.0m) couldn’t train much this week. I have to look at what’s possible with him, there’s still a question mark. He’s been ill. He trained today a bit, but I have to look. Laurent Depoitre (£5.1m) is training after his injury with his foot, it’s not easy, we have to take care for him. He won’t play against Watford.”

LEICESTER

Brendan Rodgers has no new injury worries. The Leicester boss said: “They’re all fine. Everyone had a good week’s training and Marc Albrighton (£5.1m) has had another week. We’re as good as we can be in terms of fitness. I don’t think Marc's ready yet for 90 minutes. It depends if he starts the game and plays around 60 minutes or comes on in a game. It’s just great to have him back fit and available and to have someone of that quality.”

LIVERPOOL

Jurgen Klopp has no fresh concerns after Liverpool’s 4-1 win away to Porto on Wednesday. The Liverpool boss said: “Dejan Lovren (£4.9m) was ill so he should be available again [but] we will see. Pretty much all the rest should be available, I heard nothing after the Porto game. Always after games a few players have slight, little problems but nothing really serious – so it should be OK, [they] should all be in. Joe Gomez (£4.8m) looked good. Joe played 60 minutes [for the U23s last Sunday] and now 20 [against Porto]. It looked good and looks good. It’s very important to have him back. If he will start [against Cardiff], we will see; we have a lot of players with a lot of rhythm, which is good, but it’s good to have him. It’s very important. It’s the same for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (£6.4m), it’s not about being ready and you come in immediately, because as long as the other players show no drop in form in training, we came [to this point] like this. But it’s very good to have them back and have them in contention.”

MAN CITY

Pep Guardiola was not in the mood to give anything away ahead of City’s third meeting with Spurs in the space of 11 days. He said: “We will see today how people recover and how they are physically and mentally. I’ll decide tonight/tomorrow morning in terms of selection.” Oleksandr Zinchenko (£4.7m) “made part of the training [yesterday]” so remains a doubt for tomorrow.
Leroy Sane (£9.3m) will be pushing heavily for a start and fatigue from Wednesday night's drama could play a part in Guardiola's selection. However, Raheem Sterling (£11.5m) and Bernardo Silva (£7.6m) are ahead of Sane in the pecking order on the wings. With City's sole focus now on retaining the league title, Guardiola's main men could be set for significant minutes over the run-in.

MAN UTD

On team news, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer told MUTV: “We’ll have 20 [players] training this morning [Friday], plus the keepers, which is not bad. Nemanja Matic (£5.0m) and Alexis Sanchez (£10.0m) had a good session yesterday [Thursday] as well, so they will probably be involved. The squad is looking good and getting better and better, I have to say. Ander Herrera (£5.0m) is back in training – he’s been working really hard. Eric Bailly (£5.0m) will be back in training over the weekend, Antonio Valencia (£6.4m) we’re not sure about yet.” Luke Shaw (£5.0m) serves the second game of a two-match ban in the first of United’s DGW35 fixtures.
While he may be happy with the fitness levels in his squad, OGS is not so pleased with some individual performances. The United boss added this morning: “I've learnt a lot about them over the months I've been here now. And you get to know them. Most of them, I have to say, have really impressed in their attitude. There's some that need to get a reality check of where they're at but most of these know that they can improve if they keep working as they do. I've spoken to individuals and they know. Anthony Martial (£7.2m) is one I've spoken to. I've spoken to them all individually, what we expect from them. Anthony's got a massive talent, he signed a new contract, he knows we believe in him, so just keep on working.”

NEWCASTLE

Rafa Benitez has a fully-fit squad to choose from. On his options and the club’s two long-term injury losses, the Magpies boss said: “I saw Sean Longstaff (£4.5m) today – he is walking around and getting stronger. Other than him and Florian Lejeune (£4.4m), the rest of the squad are fine. Florian had the operation, and talking with the doctor, he said everything had gone well – as we were expecting. In terms of the timescale, we think that in a couple of months we will see how he’s progressing and how long it will take. In this case, we have to give him time. We sent him to Rome with a specialist which is quite good. He was doing a great job with the other knee and we are sure he will do the same with this one. It depends on the rehabilitation but I think it will be quite quick.”

SOUTHAMPTON

Yan Valery (£4.1m) is ‘definitely fit’ for the Saints, while Jannik Vestergaard (£4.6m) is a doubt. Ralph Hasenhuttl said: “Like in the last weeks, after intense games [Vestergaard] has little problems and needs a little bit longer for recovery. It’s a long season with a huge body, so at the moment he is struggling a little bit, but let’s have a look and see if it’s possible at the weekend. Mario Lemina (£4.7m) made a big step forward in the week. He’s trained with the team and looks much better now – that’s good for him and good for us. We know we have an intense week with three games, so it will be nice if we have one more option in this position. I have spoken about it and I am sure he will play [at least] one more game this season. The chances are big because now he is training with the team, so maybe his injury has come to an end.”
Jack Stephens (£4.2m) could earn a start if Vestergaard is ruled out and Hasenhuttl sticks with a 3-4-2-1 formation. The manager could also employ a four-man backline, which would offer players such as Shane Long (£4.6m) and Stuart Armstrong (£5.1m) better chances of starting. Oriol Romeu (£4.2m) will be seeking a swift recall.

TOTTENHAM

Spurs have a host of injury issues, with Moussa Sissoko (£4.9m) the most pressing concern. Mauricio Pochettino said yesterday: “We need to assess [Sissoko] tomorrow. We’re not optimistic but today or tomorrow we will have a better idea. [Eric Dier (£4.7m)] has still not joined the team. Maybe tomorrow he can train with the team and then we need to assess whether it is OK for him to be part of the squad.”
Asked if Harry Winks (£5.5m) could return for the midweek tie against Brighton, Poch added: “We don't know, we need to assess him tomorrow. Again today and tomorrow, we will see.” Erik Lamela (£5.9m) is also a doubt after aggravating a hamstring problem in Wednesday’s warm-up. Serge Aurier (£5.7m) remains sidelined.
With a lack of engine-room options, Dele Alli (£8.8m) looks set for a deeper midfield role tomorrow at least. Fernando Llorente (£5.1m) will be pushing for a start in either a 3-4-1-2 or a 4-2-3-1. Davinson Sanchez (£5.8m), Juan Foyth (£5.0m), Ben Davies (£5.6m) and Kyle Walker-Peters (£4.2m) offer Pochettino defensive options if his first-teamers are fatigued after qualifying for the Champions League semi-finals in dramatic fashion against Man City.
On Harry Kane (£12.6m), Pochettino explained: “Still we can say nothing. We’ll assess day by day, we’ll see. We’re not optimistic but you know Harry Kane and with Harry Kane all is possible. We’re not going to say he won’t play again or not [this season], we will assess day by day.”
Regarding Heung-min Son’s (£8.8m) ban for the UCL semi-final first leg, Pochettino stated: “Of course, that is going to be sure that if he is OK he is going to play [in the PL] because for the first leg of the Champions League he is going to be suspended and it is normal with the situation we have in the squad we need to be careful how we are going manage the next few games.”

WATFORD

Troy Deeney (£5.9m) will serve a three-game suspension after Watford’s appeal against his red card failed. On GW34 absentees Gerard Deulofeu (£5.6m) and Roberto Pereyra (£6.0m), Javi Gracia said yesterday: “Both trained [for the first time] with the team [on Thursday] and we’ll see tomorrow how they are to play. We’ll decide tomorrow. Maybe [they can play]. We have another training session tomorrow and we’ll decide. I’m optimistic both will be ready, but I think they are close to coming back.”
The Spaniard was a little less evasive on Jose Holebas (£4.8m), adding: “In the next week or two weeks Jose will be ready for sure.” Adalberto Penaranda is still out, while Tom Cleverley could return soon. Domingos Quina will not feature again this season.

WEST HAM

Marko Arnautovic (£6.8m) returns for the Hammers after missing GW34 through illness. Manuel Pellegrini said: “For this week I think that Manuel Lanzini (£6.4m) and Samir Nasri (£4.9m) will not be available. Also, Javier Hernandez (£6.1m) has a problem with his ear so he couldn’t work during these last days. The other players – Jack Wilshere (£4.8m) is okay, he worked without problem. The other long injuries; Carlos Sanchez (£4.3m) also worked with the squad, so we continue with long injuries of Winston Reid, Andriy Yarmolenko and Andy Carroll. Marko worked normally the whole week.” Robert Snodgrass (£5.0m) remains available while he appeals a one-match ban for ‘misconduct towards’ an anti-doping official.

WOLVES

Nuno has confirmed he is without any injury worries after Wolves’ training camp in Marbella this week. The manager said: “We had a good week of training sessions and some social time. It was good.”
