THE TEAM NEWS

ST. HELENS

Head Coach: Justin Holbrook

Squad: Amor, Ashworth, Batchleor, Bentley, Coote, Costello, Fages, Grace, Lees, Lomax, Naiqama, Paulo, Peyroux, Richardson, Smith, Swift, Taia, Walmsley, Welsby

Unavailable: Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Mark Percival, Luke Thompson, Tommy Makinson, Morgan Knowles

  • St. Helens enjoyed a highly successful Easter period with the league leaders thrashing Hull FC on Monday to back-up their win over Wigan with the only team to beat Saints so far this season now heading to the Totally Wicked Stadium.

  • Saints are without Mark Percival, Tommy Makinson, Luke Thompson and Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook after injuries picked up over the Easter period whilst Morgan Knowles is banned after picking up a suspension against Hull.

  • James Roby is also rested for his side but Theo Fages will make his return from injury along with Zeb Taia after he was rested on Easter Monday whilst James Bentley and Matty Costello also come into the squad.

CATALANS DRAGONS

Head Coach: Steve McNamara

Squad: Baitieri, Bird, Bousquet, Casty, Da Costa, Edwards, Gigot, Goudemand, Jullien, Kasiano, Langi, Mead, Moa, Simon, Smith, Tierney, Tomkins, Whitley, Wiliame

Unavailable: Jodie Broughton, Michael McIlorum, Fouad Yaha, Ben Garcia

  • Catalans made it two wins from two over the Easter period as they comfortably saw off Castleford after beating London last Thursday and now head to league leaders St. Helens to try and complete a double over Saints.

  • Sam Tomkins has relished his move from fullback to scrum half and that could continue for the Dragons even if Matty Smith is fit after the latter was selected in the 19-man squad after missing the last few games.

  • Lucas Albert is the man to make way with the Dragons now just missing four first-team players as their injury situation continues to improve which has coincided with Catalans’ recent improvement in form.

THE PREDICTION

The only two teams to collect maximum points over the Easter schedule meet here with revenge on the mind for St. Helens. Catalans are the only side to defeat the league leaders this season but they will be keen to rectify that and can gain revenge here. They will have to do it with their most under-strength side of the season with several big names missing but the return of Theo Fages could be crucial and he can guide his side to the win in what should be an interesting encounter.
