Camila Reynoso: Can "Buttercup" upset the oddsmakers?
With just a single loss across sixteen combined fights as an amateur and a professional, Camila Reynoso (9-1) decidedly belies her nickname of “Buttercup.” A well-rounded threat with decent striking and suffocating grappling, the 23 year old Argentinian has earned stoppages in six of her professional bouts to date. A two-weight division champion in Argentinian promotion, Samurai Fight House, Reynoso has only been denied victory on one occasion, coming up short via decision to Xiomara Piriz last year.
Aieza Ramos Bertolso: The LFA strawweight queen arrives on short notice
Stepping in for Hailai Wushamo, Aieza Bertolso (7-0) gets her chance at a UFC dream on relatively short notice. The undefeated Brazilian has fought the entirety of her career in LFA, scoring finishes in all but two of her seven professional victories and winning the strawweight championship via second round armbar in her most recent appearance. A decorated amateur who went 15-1, Bertolso won gold at the IMMAFs on two separate occasions. She’s a solid striker, but is primarily known as a submission artist, attacking all limbs and chokes whenever an opportunity presents itself.

While she’s taking this fight on short notice, we’re riding with Bertolso to get this one done.
The deciding factor here is strength of schedule. Reynoso has looked superb on the Argentinian regional circuit, but the competition is nowhere near that of the American level and she’s also been beaten by a fighter that isn’t sniffing a UFC place.
I put a lot more stock in a prospect who has fought the entirety of her career in a respectable promotion like LFA, let alone one who is undefeated and won the title in her most recent bout. One could argue that Reynoso has more experience on paper, but Bertolso had such an extensive amateur career that she’s probably had more cage time over the years.
I give the edge to Bertolso whether this one plays out on the feet or on the ground. I think she’s going to show levels here and snatch up a submission somewhere in the first two rounds.
