- Cronulla played out a fascinating contest with Brisbane last week but it was the Broncos that came away with the spoils. Jordan Kahu’s 48th minute penalty was all that split the two teams with no further scores in a pulsating match as the Sharks were narrowly edged out 12-10.
- Wade Graham returns from a groin injury which sees Joseph Paulo dropping to the reserves. Josh Dugan has also been named in the reserves and could be a late inclusion.
- Despite last week’s defeat, the Sharks have still won 10 of their last 13 matches and remain just two points outside of the top 4.

- Manly looked set to bounce back from their hammering against Sydney Roosters with what would have been an impressive win over Penrith. However, despite leading by 18 points with just 13 minutes left, the Sea Eagles contrived to throw that lead away as they lost 24-28.
- Martin Taupau comes back into the run-on side with Taniela Paseka reverting to the bench in the only change to last week.
- The Sea Eagles have won just one of eight matches and now currently sit just two points off the foot of the NRL ladder.
THE PREDICTION
Manly found yet another way to lose last week as they threw away an 18-point lead with just 13 minutes left at home to Penrith. They now travel to a Cronulla side that know they could end the weekend inside the top 4 if they win and other results go their way. They were involved in a brilliant contest against Brisbane last week in a game that looked and felt every bit like a play-off game. Despite the loss, replicating that level of intensity will be bad news for the Sea Eagles and the Sharks can fully expect to get back to winning ways on home soil here as the wooden spoon looms for Manly.
