THE TEAM NEWS
SENEGAL
- Senegal drew with Japan last time out but they still need a draw from this game with Colombia to assure themselves of a Round of 16 spot.
- Coach Aliou Cisse made a slightly more defensive change with Badou N'Diaye in for Niang against Japan and he will stick with that here.
-
Niang is not 100% fit so he will be on the bench, but Cisse has a fully fit squad to choose from otherwise for this crunch match.
Predicted line-up (4-3-3):
K. N'Diaye
Wague, Koulibaly, Sane, Sabaly
B. N'Diaye, A. N'Diaye, Gueye
Sarr, Diouf, Mane
Unavailable: None
Doubtful: Niang
COLOMBIA
- Colombia produced one of the best displays of the tournament so far in taking Poland apart last time out so confidence is flying right now.
- They welcome back Carlos Sanchez after suspension and he should come into the midfield to partner either Barrios or Lerma.
- Regular left-back Fabra is expected to miss out through injury also so that will hand an opportunity for Mojica to come into the team.
Predicted line-up (4-2-3-1):
Ospina
Arias, Mina, D. Sanchez, Mojica
C. Sanchez, Lerma
Cuadrado, Quintero, James Rodriguez
Falcao
Unavailable: Fabra, Aguilar
Doubtful: None
THE PREDICTION
This promises to be one of the more entertaining games of the group stage with the winner taking all and going through to the knockout phase. Both teams possess plenty of firepower and attacking quality, and the situation around the game means over 2.5 goals is extremely tempting.
