THE TEAM NEWS
COLOMBIA
- Colombia won their last two matches following defeat in their opening game, and their performances are improving by the game.
- The win over Senegal was marred by the injury to James Rodriguez who was forced off and he is highly unlikely to be available here.
- Muriel is the most likely candidate to come in after replacing him in that game in what is the only expected change to the starting line-up.
Predicted line-up (4-2-3-1):
Ospina
Arias, Mina, D. Sanchez, Mojica
C. Sanchez, Uribe
Cuadrado, Quintero, Muriel
Falcao
Unavailable: Fabra
Doubtful: Aguilar, James Rodriguez
ENGLAND
- After much debate, Gareth Southgate did make significant changes against Belgium and subsequently lost but his team will be well rested.
- All his key players will come back into the side with the only doubt being whether Loftus-Cheek starts or Alli will return after injury.
- Fabian Delph returned home for a couple of days so his preparation has been affected but he is unlikely to feature in this game however.
Predicted line-up (3-4-2-1):
Pickford
Walker, Stones, Maguire
Trippier, Henderson, Alli, Young
Lingard, Sterling
Kane
Unavailable: None
Doubtful: None
THE PREDICTION
Colombia are somewhat underrated and the only game they have not won in the World Cup so far was the opening match against Japan after they conceded a penalty and red card in the 2nd minute. Even without James Rodriguez, they will be a tough test for England and expect this to go to extra-time.
