- The Patriots sealed the final play-off place on Sunday night as they smashed 118/3 from 10.1 overs to beat the Jamaica Tallawahs in a rain-affected match and they can relax for this final group stage match.
- Rassie van der Dussen showed just how dangerous he could be in that match as he hit a stunning 45 runs from 24 balls to help his side to victory and they finally have somebody else other than Chris Gayle contributing with some big hitting.
- Their bowling however has suffered since Nepalese prodigy Lamichhane departed as they were hit for 10 per over for the second consecutive match and that is an area they will have to improve in the knockout rounds.
BARBADOS TRIDENTS

- The Tridents’ season is stuttering to a poor finish as they have lost their last five matches in a row and now have no chance of reaching the play-offs after they lost to the struggling St Lucia Stars on Sunday night.
- Steve Smith has been shut down for the rest of the CPL campaign due to an abdominal injury but that will not be too big a loss coming into this game as he has only managed a modest 185 runs in his seven innings.
- They may be able to play with a degree of freedom after elimination but they have struggled for focus and motivation when there has been plenty on the line so it is hard to have much confidence especially off the back of a five-match losing run.
THE PREDICTION
The Tridents never got going in this edition of the CPL despite having a star-studded batting line-up, and they inspire very little confidence at the moment having lost their last five matches. The Patriots have nothing to play for themselves after winning on Sunday and sealing the final play-off place but they will be keen to carry some momentum into the final four. They have to be favoured with form, team news and home advantage in their favour.
