HEAD-TO-HEAD
All-time meetings: Jamaica Tallawahs W6, St Lucia Stars W3
THE TEAM NEWS
JAMAICA TALLAWAHS
Coach: Mark O'Donnell
Captain: Andre Russell
- The Tallawahs have only played one match so far in the CPL and that was the magnificent victory over the Knight Riders which saw captain Andre Russell claim a hat-trick with the ball and smash a 40-ball ton as they chased down 223/6.
- Russell’s heroics masked some weaknesses in their play as their bowling attack struggled other than Russell and Imad Wasim while their top order was poor with the bat as they were reduced to 16/4 from 3.3 overs.
- The victory may see them stick with the majority of the team that played the opener although they do have Adam Zampa available after the Essex Eagles released him early after they were eliminated from the t20 Blast in England.
ST LUCIA STARS
Coach: Brad Hodge
Captain: Kieron Pollard
- The Stars from St Lucia have endured two difficult matches in CPL 2018 so far as they were bowled out for 95 in the opening match and only managed 138/7 against Guyana last time out so there is plenty of room for improvement.
- Veteran all-rounder Darren Sammy missed the last match but he should return to the starting line-up here, and he will be look to contribute more to this struggling Stars team in Kingston.
- The three-run defeat to the Amazon Warriors last time will have hurt them as it prolonged their 13-match winless streak but it was a match in which they looked capable of winning with some ease yet they found a way to lose.
