Adam Walton was one set away from a second-round appearance at Wimbledon for the second straight year but ended up losing to Arthur Cazaux in a five set thriller. He did win a title at the start of the year in Brisbane on the Challenger Tour, while he also proved how much of a threat he can be on hard court when he went through the qualifiers in Miami and won three more matches in the main draw to reach the fourth-round.
He will take on Rodrigo Pacheo Mendez in the first-round of this event. Mendez is yet to make a final this season, but he has been pretty consistent on the Challenger Tour with five-quarter-finals and two semi-final appearances in Antalya and Sassuolo.
They have squared off before, with Pacheo winning 6-4 3-6 6-1 in the first-round of the Morelos Challenger back in 2023. Walton will be the favourite in this one and should have enough to register a first win against his opponent.
