Wigan Warriors vs St. Helens prediction

Magic Weekend comes to a close on Sunday evening with the game of the round as bitter rivals Wigan and St Helens collide at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium.

It is the Warriors who come into the match with the form behind them having won all of their last five matches in all competitions so they will be full of confidence ahead of this one.

St Helens had a dip in form a few weeks ago but have shown signs of improvement in their last two matches. Those two wins came against Huddersfield and Bradford with Paul Rowley’s men racking up 38 and 40 points respectively.

They now meet and that comes off a recent Challenge Cup semi-final which saw the Warriors nil the Saints 32-0. That followed the Saints stunning Wigan in the league earlier in the season.

The embarrassment of that loss stunned the Warriors who conceded four late tries so it was no surprise to see their reaction in the Challenge Cup encounter.

Both sides will be fired up ahead of this one and the Saints will be buoyed by the fact that they have sold more tickets for Magic Weekend than any other team in the competition.

Both teams have injuries but the loss of Bevan French will be a major setback for the Warriors. That could well lead to a slightly more conservative match with flair lacking a little on both sides.

We fancy the defences of both teams to get on top here and while Wigan are our preferred play, under 40.5 total points is our pick.

Wigan Warriors vs St. Helens tip: Under 40.5 total points
