St. Helens vs Castleford Tigers prediction
St Helens are buoyed by their shock win again Wakefield Trinity last week and they have been boosted by the news that Kevin Walters has agreed a deal to be their new head coach for next season.
The current Australia head coach has outstanding pedigree and the Saints have broken the bank to get him so that should lift everybody in and around the club, showing that they mean business when it comes to bouncing back next season.
Castleford Tigers have had plenty of troubles themselves this season and they announced the departure of head coach Ryan Carr this week due to personal reasons.
Whether that sparks any kind of reaction remains to be seen but they do come off a victory of their own, beating Hull FC last week to snap a three-match losing streak during which the Tigers conceded 44 points or more in each of those matches.
The 18-14 win over Hull FC will lift them but they are still lacking the quality to trouble the better teams in Super League.
That being said, it is hard to fancy St Helens winning by a large scoreline. They should come out on top, but stay away from the handicap. We expect a fast start by the home side with the mood around starting to lift, so back Saints to be winning at both half-time and full-time.
