Warrington Wolves team news: Sneyd fighting eye problem
With question marks regarding whether he would be available due to his fractured eye socket, Marc Sneyd has been named in the squad and may well be fit to start for Warrington Wolves. George Williams will miss out through injury, although if they reach the final, he could yet recover in time for that one.
Squad: Matty Ashton, Jordy Crowther, Ben Currie, Matt Dufty, Lachan Fitzgibbon, James Harrison, Adam Holroyd, Toby King, Oli Leyland, Arron Lindop, Zane Musgrove, Joe Philbin, Sam Powell, Stefan Ratchford, Dan Russell, Marc Sneyd, Rodrick Tai, Jake Thewlis, Josh Thewlis, Paul Vaughan, Luke Yates
Leigh Leopards team news: Armstrong boost
The return of David Armstrong has come at the perfect time for Adrian Lam and Leigh Leopards, who also welcome Alec Tuitavak back into the squad. However, Keanan Brand, Frankie Halton and Aaron Pene all miss out.
Squad: David Armstrong, Darnell McIntosh, Tesi Niu, Umyla Hanley, Josh Charnley, Gaz O’Brien, Lachlan Lam, Owen Trout, Edwin Ipape, Robbie Mulhern, Jack Hughes, Isaac Liu, Alec Tuitavake, Matt Davis, Brad Dwyer, Louis Brogan, Ethan O’Neill, Andrew Badrock, Ben McNamara, Bailey Hodgson, Joe Ofahengaue
Warrington Wolves vs Leigh Leopards prediction
Warrington Wolves and Leigh Leopards last met on rivals weekend, with the Leopards narrowly coming out on top 18-14 at Leigh Sports Village. But Warrington are a different animal when it comes to the Challenge Cup in recent years as they hunt for a second consecutive Wembley trip. But they haven’t won the competition since 2019, whilst Leigh won it all only two years ago.
Expect another close battle between these two clubs as Adrian Lam looks to find the right formula to get the better of the Wire. Warrington should tighten up defensively compared to what we saw on Magic Weekend against Wigan Warriors and points are unlikely to be easy to come by over the course of 80 minutes here.
Warrington have a real fighting spirit against them and a togetherness that can prove golden in big games like this. Leigh Leopards are the form time without a doubt, but the value move may well be to back the Wolves.
