Wakefield Trinity Team News: Hosts unchanged

Wakefield Trinity have announced the same squad as the one that went down to Leigh last time out. Lachlan Walmsley may well return to the wing instead of Matty Russell and Daryl Powell will have a big call to make on that front.

Squad: Max Jowitt, Lachlan Walmsley, Cameron Scott, Corey Hall, Tom Johnstone, Jake Trueman, Mike McMeeken, Liam Hood, Seth Nikotemo, Josh Griffin, Jay Pitts, Isaiah Vagana, Oliver Pratt, Mason Lino, Mathieu Cozza, Josh Rourke, Matty Russell, Jack Croft, Harvey Smith, Jayden Myers, Caius Faatili

Wigan Warriors Team News: French back for Peet’s side

Wigan Warriors fans will be delighted to see Bevan French named in the squad by boss Matt Peet after he missed out last weekend with a calf problem. Luke Thompson also returns following a rib injury and both players could feature across the 80 minutes.

Squad: Jai Field, Adam Keighran, Jake Wardle, Liam Marshall, Bevan French, Harry Smith, Ethan Havard, Brad O’Neill, Luke Thompson, Junior Nsemba, Liam Farrell, Kaide Ellis, Patrick Mago, Liam Byrne, Kruise Leeming, Tyler Dupree, Harvie Hill, Zach Eckersley, Tom Forber, Jack Farrimond, Jacob Douglas

Wakefield Trinity vs Wigan Warriors Prediction

A mammoth task lies ahead for Wakefield Trinity, keeping at bay a Wigan Warriors side who have won 12 from 14 in Super League this season, although they were pushed hard by Huddersfield Giants last time out, Matty Peet’s men coming out on top by a score of 18-22 on the road. But with Bevan French back in the fold, we should see a notable improvement from the Warriors on the offensive front.

Wakefield Trinity are coming off the back of consecutive defeats and whilst they have proven themselves to be a dangerous team from an attacking perspective if everything clicks, their backline will struggle to contain Wigan, who are the better all-round team and have to be favoured to pick up the victory.
