Vikingur Reykjavik vs Vestri prediction

Solvi Ottesen led his Vikingur Reykjavik side to an eighth league title last season. The league champions will be aiming to improve again after a slight dip since reaching the knockout playoffs of the 2024/25 UEFA Europa Conference League at the start of their domestic campaign around about this time last year.

Vestri only gained promotion to the top-flight in 2023 but, remarkably, defeated Vikingur's city rivals Valur Reykjavik to win the Icelandic cup last season.

Despite that incredible achievement and proof of being able to punch above their weight, Vikingur should be expected to pick up the first piece of silverware in the Icelandic season.
