There is more than a hint of an upset about this first meeting with world number 89 Alexei Popyrin, who owns a poor 2-7 record for 2022 so far. 22-year-old Popyrin snapped a seven-match losing streak last time out with a decent result over Nikoloz Basilashvili in the first round of the Dubai Tennis Championships but a loss in the second to Ricardas Berankis suggests his form remains all over the place.
