World number 81 Dominic Thiem takes on number 82 Marcos Giron on Saturday in a match that looks set to go the distance. 30-year-old Giron came back from a set down to stun former world number three Stan Wawrinka in three tight tiebreaks to look battle-hardened against another former Grand Slam champion here but Thiem has won both of their previous encounters in a 2-0 head-to-head record.
