THE PREDICTION

This will be a fascinating clash between 21-year-old Dominic Stricker, who qualified by the skin of his teeth despite losing two of three matches this week, and 29-year-old Hamad Medjedovic, who brings a 3-0 record into the semi-finals as the surprise package of the tournament. The world number 110 is a clear future talent across surfaces, initially impressing on clay this season before a huge run to the semi-finals of the Astana Open on indoor hardcourt last month, but Stricker is the vastly more experienced with recent top 50 calibre displayed in his run to the round of 16 at the US Open. Stricker stunned Stefanos Tsitsipas en-route to the last 16 in New York and he more recently beat another top 10 in Casper Ruud at the Swiss Indoors to prove his grit but he faces a similarly hungry youngster in Medjedovic, whose rising star has been rapid this season. Stricker took top seed Arthur Fils to four sets yesterday before defeat but Medjedovic’s streak is a tough momentum now. Back the Serb to win at least two sets as the likelier of two very capable finalists.

BETTING TIP: HAMAD MEDJEDOVIC TO WIN TWO SETS
