THE PREDICTION
World number 13 Grigor Dimitrov won the Brisbane International at the start of the season to snap a six-year title drought, stretching back to the year-end ATP Finals in 2017. The 32-year-old reached the Geneva Open final last summer, a first since 2018, and ended 2023 as runner-up to Novak Djokovic at the Paris Masters to chart a remarkable rise back to something like his previous best and he should be considered a dark horse for the title here behind the likes of defending champion and perhaps Jannik Sinner.
A straight-sets opener over Lorenzo Sonego was a solid start on Wednesday but world number 86 Marton Fucsovics looks like tougher fare after taking the Bulgarian to four sets before defeat in Melbourne last month. 32-year-old Fucsovics beat fellow Hungarian Fabian Marozsan on Tuesday to get a strong foothold in at Rotterdam but Dimitrov has won each of their last two encounters to level their head-to-head at 2-2 and the sixth seed can take a first lead here. Back Dimitrov to win outright, with three sets only a little less likely than two.
TIP: GRIGOR DIMITROV TO WIN
