The former world number 21 is playing for her country, Ukraine, having barely escaped the war in her homeland alongside her 15-year-old sister with whom she played doubles this week. World number 30 Sorana Cirstea has been playing well all week in Lyon as the highest-remaining seed in the draw, with three straight-set victories behind her so far. This first meeting between in-form Cirstea and an inspired Yastremska could be a thriller on Saturday and a very tough one to call given the circumstances. Backing Cirstea to win at least a set seems the slightly likelier way this match falls but it could be better leaving this one alone altogether with Yastremska well capable of blasting through in two.
