19-year-old Arthur Fils comes into the Next Gen ATP Finals as the clear favourite, top seed at a career-high ATP world ranking of 36th, but that has not always guaranteed success in this tournament. The Frenchman is the highest ranked player in Jeddah by 34 places and he is the only player with a title to his name after he stunned Francisco Cerundolo in the Lyon Open final back in May – one of two finals reached this season after recently finishing runner-up to Alexander Bublik in Antwerp. 20-year-old Luca Nardi also brings a career-high ranking of 115th into Jeddah after recently winning a Challenger title in Japan but his 2-10 tour-level record speaks volumes for this first meeting with Fils. The Frenchman has more tour experience than the majority of the field put together, with Dominic Stricker looking his main threat this week, and he can be backed to beat Nardi in straight sets here.
