World number 48 Ana Konjuh will have to recalibrate after initially being drawn to face Alize Cornet in the first round but the Frenchwoman was bumped up to the seeds. 24-year-old Konjuh will now face world number 122 Harriet Dart instead, with the Brit just two places off of her career-high WTA world ranking of 120th she set late last season. Dart could cause Konjuh some problems here but the Croat has beaten the likes of Marketa Vondrousova, Shelby Rogers and Marta Kostyuk so far this season and that puts her at a working level well above her British opponent here. Konjuh lost to Katie Boulter in three sets last week at the Lyon Open to throw a little uncertainty about this pick, so backing the Croat to win outright looks the sensible move.
