World number 17 Marin Cilic dominated the first set of his opener against Liam Broady but had to fight back in the decider in a somewhat choppy encounter. The former world number three enjoys his tennis here more than anywhere else and he comes in red-hot form from a stunning run to the semi-finals of Roland-Garros on what is his least effective surface. The Croat thrives on grass and he already looks a dark horse for a second Queen’s Club title come the weekend with the likes of reigning champion Matteo Berrettini his only remaining serious challenger. World number 37 Alexander Bublik was in control against Lorenzo Musetti on Monday before the Italian retired in the second set but this will be a serious step-up in quality. Cilic has beaten Bublik in both of their previous encounters and the 33-year-old looks to be in one of the brighter periods of his long, illustrious career. Back Cilic to win outright here, with Bublik losing in three on both previous occasions.
