World number 97 Alex Michelsen came off the worse in a tight five-set battle with Hamad Medjedovic on Tuesday, coming back from two sets down to level things before losing the final tiebreak. Four tiebreaks in total against Medjedovic suggests including at least one in this pick is a reasonable addition, particularly as Abedallah Shelbayh saw two in his four-set defeat to second seed Luca Van Assche on Tuesday. Michelsen burst onto the scene with a huge run to the Newport Open final on his tour debut back in July and he has enjoyed plenty of strong work on the Challenger circuit since. 20-year-old Shelbayh has also enjoyed some strong work off the tour in recent months but a 2-6 record at tour level so far suggests Michelsen has the advantage in both conditions and experience here.
