Samoa vs Scotland prediction
Ranked 13 in the world, Samoa have not been in action since September of last year when they ground out an 18-13 victory over USA to finish third in the Pacific Nations Cup.
The islanders’ greatest strength is their physicality, and they will attempt to use that to their advantage against a Scottish side who can occasionally wilt under those circumstances.
Indeed, Gregor Townsend’s men struggled to deal with Fiji’s intensity in Suva last week, losing 29-14 in what was a bruising defeat.
The Scotland head coach knows that their summer tour will be deemed a failure should they fail to overcome Samoa, and with their sights already set on the 2027 World Cup, there is a need to start growing some confidence in the camp.
The defeat to Fiji should bring about a response in the Scots, and despite the fact they are missing some key men due to the concurrent Lions tour, we’re tipping them to rise to the occasion with a comfortable victory at Eden Park.
