Argentina vs Wales prediction

Argentina claimed a losing bonus point with a late rally against an explosive Scotland last weekend, but the 47-38 defeat was ultimately a disappointing Nations Championship opener for the Pumas, who came into the new tournament with high hopes.

The southern hemisphere outfit have been hugely competitive in the Rugby Championship over the last couple of years and will be determined to showcase their improvement on a grander scale here.

Wales' 39-24 defeat of Fiji in Cardiff last weekend meant they have recorded back-to-back wins for the first time since 2023, and head coach Steve Tandy will hope that they have turned a corner now after a challenging period in Welsh rugby.

Tandy has made a big call in dropping Louis Rees-Zammit to the bench ahead of their first proper 'away' match of the new tournament, given that last week's contest with Fiji took place in Cardiff.

Argentina are a step-up in class from Fiji and you have to think they will have too much for a Wales side who are still very much in the rebuilding phase. We expect the Pumas to ease to victory in San Juan.

Argentina vs Wales tip: Argentina to win with -17.5 handicap
