Bordeaux snapped a horrid run of five Top 14 defeats on the spin just in time last Saturday with an excellent 18-31 smash and grab at Stade Francais. After missing out on a likely championship two years ago when covid-19 curtailed their promising Top 14 season it would have been a shame to see Bordeaux fall away once again and they could well regain their lead if Montpellier slip up at Perpignan earlier on Saturday. Travelling La Rochelle are no gimme, of course, but a recent 41-11 defeat at Toulon suggests they could be found wanting on the road. The visitors look set for a play-off berth with five matches left to play after taking four wins from their last five but this day should just about be Bordeaux’s. Take the hosts to cover a cautious -2.
