THE TEAM NEWS

ST. GEORGE ILLAWARRA DRAGONS

  • St. George Illawarra Dragons were right in the contest against Brisbane Broncos last week but capitulated in the closing stages and ended up conceding 40 points in defeat.
  • The Dragons will need to ensure they compete for the full 80 in this clash with Cronulla Sharks with rookie forward Toby Couchman returning to the bench after a head knock ruled him out last week.

Starting 13: Sloan, Mat. Feagai, Suli, Lomax, Ravalawa, Sullivan, B. Hunt, F. Molo, Mbye, Lawrie, Murdoch-Manila, Su’a, Bird – Interchanges: Liddle, Musgrove, Couchman, Kerr – Reserves: M. Molo, Max Feagai, J. Hunt, Amone, Woods

Unavailable: Cody Ramsey (Illness), Jack De Belin (Injured)

CRONULLA SHARKS

  • Cronulla Sharks suffered a second loss in their opening three matches to begin the year as they were disappointing in their game with Canberra Raiders last week.
  • The Sharks failed to back-up their effort from the previous round against Parramatta Eels as they fell short but there is a huge inclusion for them this week with reigning Dally M medal holder Nicho Hynes set to make his first appearance of the campaign.

Starting 13: Kennedy, Katoa, Ramien, Talakai, Mulitalo, Moylan, Hynes, Rudolf, Brailey, Hamlin-Uele, Nikora, Wilton, Finucane – Interchanges: McInnes, Hunt, Kaufusi, Trindall – Reserves: Williams, Hiroti, Hazelton, Berrell, Tracey

Unavailable: Kade Dykes (Injured), Matt Ikuvalu (Injured), Wade Graham (Suspended)

THE PREDICTION

St. George Illawarra Dragons fell away when it mattered most as they were defeated by Brisbane Broncos last week. The Dragons had performed well but fell away badly towards the dying embers of the game and ended up suffering a heavy loss. They will aim to bounce back here as they take on a Cronulla Sharks side that have yet to really get going this year with just one win from three but with Nicho Hynes set to come into the side, his presence should be enough for the Sharks to make it six successive victories against the Dragons.
